6. SPINNEY The
wetland area at the corner of Saplings Field provides an example of the
natural vegetation in this area before drainage took place. Willow and
Alder are associated with wet ground. Willows were once grown commercially
on Bob Iddon's field for the basket making industry in Mawdesley.
